In Matthew's account of the resurrection, the religious leaders are determined not to believe. Their refusal to believe was never about a lack of evidence that Jesus is the Messiah. Rather, it was about their unwillingness to soften their hearts and repent. The empty tomb demands a response. Jesus said, "You are either with me or against me."
