We recognize that visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating, especially during this time as we navigate Covid 19. Here’s a little bit of information that will hopefully make your visit enjoyable.
Worship begins at 9:30 a.m. Due to Covid 19, right now we are using only the ramp entrance on the East side of the building. When you arrive you will be greeted at the ramp and offered any help you might need (Elevator available). Masks are encouraged but not required. Most people choose to wear them until they are seated (Disposable masks are available). Our seating has been marked off so that we can try and maintain a measure of social distance during the pandemic.
You will pass by our welcome desk as you enter the sanctuary. We’d love to meet you so feel free to stop at the desk and let our guest receptionist know you’re visiting. They have a few small gifts they’d like to give you.
FRONT OF SANCTUARY
As you enter the sanctuary, you’ll notice that you’re entering the front of the sanctuary. Don’t be alarmed - that’s how everyone enters. We know it may feel a little awkward, but really, everyone is accustomed to it.
We have a nursery for children
up to 3 years old. When you enter at the ramp the nursery is at the bottom of the stairs. We have a system to check your children into our kid’s zone. At the end of the worship service your child will be ready for you, hopefully with a big smile after having had such a good time.
There is a countdown video running that lets everyone know when worship starts. Before then, people will visit and chat with one another. There’s a good chance someone will introduce themselves to you during this time.
Most people dress fairly casual.
The congregation is greeted by a host and then we typically sing three or four songs led by the praise team. Following singing there is a prayer which is followed by a message related to a passage of scripture from the Bible. Sometimes that message is preceded by a children’s message. We take an offering and conclude the service with a closing song. Right now, due to Covid, we are not gathering for coffee and cookies after the service.
Following worship we have Sunday Connect offered for any children 3-8th grade downstairs in the Kid’s Zone until 11:15. Masks for children are required and available at the check in desk. Parents must check their children in at the security desk downstairs. Adult Sunday Connect class is available upstairs in the Gathering Place.
